Denver and Detroit Close Off Saturday Night Football
The Lions look like they peaked way too early in the season. They may not even make it into the playoffs at this rate. They are taking on a team that’s only 7-6 but have won six of their last seven games and are only trailing the first-place Chiefs by one game.
The Broncos have the worst run defense in the NFL, which the Lions can capitalize on with Jahymr Gibbs and David Montgomery. And they aren’t as good on the road, sporting a 2-3-1 ATS this season.
But the differentiator is the turnovers. Denver has a +11 turnover margin over the past eight weeks, while Detroit is sitting at -8 over that same period. Jared Goff has turned over the ball 12 times since Week 7.
Detroit might be focused on running the ball, but I’m betting that Denver will keep forcing the turnovers, which will win the game for them. Keep your limits in because Detroit will continue its downward spiral.
Sunday Begins With the Bears at Browns
Cleveland hopes the 38-year-old quarterback, who showed a strong throwing arm against Jacksonville, will continue leading his team to victory against Chicago. Coach Kevin Stefanski announced that Joe Flacco will start for the remainder of the season. But isn’t that how Joshua Dobbs started in Minnesota before they benched him for being ineffective?
Chicago has won their last two games, most recently against Detroit. Justin Fields has a 65.7% completion rate with no interceptions during that stretch. They are 4-3 ATS on the road, while the Browns are 6-1 ATS at home.
If Flacco shows up again, then the Browns have this one. You might want to limit any Flacco props bets, just in case.
Dallas Goes on the Road to Buffalo’s Outdoor Arena
The Cowboys and Bills are coming off massive wins last week. Dallas beat the Eagles, the top team in the NFL, and took over their position. Buffalo won against the defending champions, Kansas City. While Dallas blew out their opponent, Buffalo won because of an offside call. Yet somehow, the Bills are favored in this matchup by 2.5 points.
Dallas has a perfect 7-0 record at home but is only 3-3 on the road. Plus, they haven’t played in an outdoor arena in a month, and it’ll be cold in Buffalo. Of the three outdoor games they’ve played since Week 5, they are 1-2, averaging only 22 points per game.
Even with their 7-6 record this season, the Bills are 5-1 at home. Their defense only surrenders an average of 14.5 points in those home games. Visually, it looks like Dak Prescott and the Cowboys will run over the Bills. Statistically, it seems like the Bills could win and cover.
Baltimore Visits Jacksonville to Close Out Sunday Night Football
Trevor Lawrence should have sat out for multiple games with his ankle injury but continues to hobble through. Lamar Jackson is 5-1 SU on the road with two interceptions. Although they needed overtime to win against the Rams last week, Jackson threw for 316 yards and three touchdowns.
The Jaguars have allowed an average of 265.2 yards in the air this year, ranking them second-last in the NFL. On the ground, the Ravens are the No. 1 team in the NFL, while the Jags are third on run defense.
Jacksonville has to find a way to slow down Jackson’s legs and throwing arm, while Lawrence needs to get some chemistry going with Calvin Ridley and Zay Jones. But don’t expect that to happen for this game.
