Cleveland Browns 2023 Preview. The 2023 Pro Football Hall of Fame Game kicked off the National Football League’s 104th season. It was played at the Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio, where the league was born. Cleveland’s preseason begins next week when they host the Washington Commanders. The other two games are on the road against last year’s Super Bowl contenders. It’s a good thing it’s still preseason.
The regular season starts and ends with the Division rival Bengals. The Browns have the 14th easiest schedule in the league, but that’s only because they are in the tough AFC North division. The games outside their division are primarily against teams that didn’t make the playoffs last year. The 49ers will be their biggest challenge, although they haven’t been able to win in Seattle since Nov. 1989. Keep your limits in for the Seattle game. It could get weird.

News on the Wide Receivers
The top two returning wide receivers are Amari Cooper and Donovan Peoples-Jones. Added to the group are Elijah Moore, Marquise Goodwin, and Cedric Tillman.
The Browns traded for Moore because of his speed. He was originally drafted by the Jets in 2021 but asked to be traded in his second year because he was frustrated with his lack of involvement in the offense. The Browns are impressed with his versatility. He’s a skilled inside and outside receiver. He can also carry the ball and run routes out of the backfield.
Goodwin, who is entering his 10th season, will miss the start of training camp because of blood clots in his lungs and legs. There’s no further information on how long he’ll be out.
The rookie Cedric Tillman looks excellent so far in training camp. But is it good enough to be part of the starting lineup?
Quarterback Deshaun Watson Has Been Handed a Winning Offense
Now that his suspension due to a sexual assault incident is over, Watson can focus on using the offense he was given. On paper, it looks unstoppable. The talent on the line will give him time to use his arm to find the best of a skilled receiving crew. Or the line can create a lane for one of the stellar running backs to dart through. When all else fails, he can run the ball himself. He’s been given the green light by offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt.
Watson is encouraged to go through the progression of each play, but when that’s done, and there are still no options, he can take off on his own at his discretion. He’s been putting in a lot of extra time on the practice field, which the coaching staff appreciates. They want their leaders to set an example of hard work for everyone else.
Defense Overhaul
To improve a defense that underwhelmed last year, the Browns made several changes to players and coaches. They signed free agents Juan Thornhill (S) and Dalvin Tomlinson (DT). Also, they traded for pass-rusher Za’Darius Smith.
They added Jim Schwartz as defensive coordinator, who wants to increase the sacks, tackles for loss, and turnovers for this unit. They also added a new special teams coordinator, Bubba Ventrone, to revamp this section to the level it was when Ventrone played for the Browns (2009-12).
Cleveland Browns Sports Betting Predictions
The Browns ended the 2022 season at the bottom of the AFC with a 7-10 record. With Watson ready to play the entire season and the improved lineup in the offense, Cleveland’s odds have improved for 2023.
Adjust your lines as needed and put your limits in. Cleveland has made significant changes with players and coaches on both sides of the ball. The biggest question mark is Watson. His last six games after his suspension ranked him 26th in the league in QBR (38.3). The Browns are betting that he will return to being one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
