2021 marks the return of the Men’s College Basketball Tournament. The NCAA has set tournament schedule dates. Soon, players will start calling their bookie agents looking for answers to when March Madness begins.
Most sports in 2020 didn’t cancel. Instead, they delayed their seasons, evaluated the situation, and then restarted in the summer.
Instead of happening on the first Saturday in May, the Kentucky Derby took place on the first Saturday in September. The National Hockey League and National Basketball Association restarted their seasons in July and August.
Major League Baseball played a 60-game regular season. College football decided to start in September instead of late August.
But although most sports leagues managed to finish their seasons, some, like NCAA College Basketball, had to cancel. On the week the annual NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament was set to announce the 2020 field, the NBA shut down their season.
After the National Basketball Association decided to self-quarantine, the NCAA had no choice but to shutter both the women’s and men’s tournaments. For the first time since 1939, the NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament didn’t happen in 2020.
The lack of a March Madness 2020 has bolstered enthusiasm for the 2021 March Madness Tournament. Sports bettors and PPH sportsbook bookies are ready for the 3-weeks of betting mayhem and bliss that happens every NCAA Tournament season.
The pandemic is still a “thing,” though. Check out how the NCAA plans on producing one of the most exciting tournaments in history even though they won’t play games in regions like normal.
