NBA Playoffs Recap – Denver gets by the Los Angeles Lakers & Miami trumps the Boston Celtics

The Denver Nuggets had a much easier time getting by the Los Angeles Lakers than the Miami Heat had getting by the Boston Celtics. Bookie software agents should keep reading to discover how the Nuggets got by LeBron and the Lakers and how Heat beat the Celtics in seven.

How did the Denver Nuggets get here?

Denver rolled through their Western Conference opponents. The top team on the ESPN Basketball Power Index lost a single game in their 4-1 series victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Then in the conference semifinals, Denver lost two games to the Phoenix Suns in their 4-2 series win. The NBA Western Conference Finals is where the Nuggets impressed.

Denver blasted LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and the rest of the Lakers in a 4-0 sweep. Denver heads into the NBA Finals, looking like the best team in the NBA.

Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, and Aaron Gordon make for a seriously talented Big Three.

How did the Miami Heat get here?

Miami entered the NBA Playoffs as the 8-seed. Jimmy Butler and his mates didn’t let the 8-seed moniker keep them from beating the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round.

Then in the second round, the Heat efficiently handled the New York Knicks. The NBA Eastern Conference Finals started Miami’s way.

The Heat built a 3-0 series lead before the Boston Celtics rallied to win three straight. Miami, behind Jimmy Butler, dubbed Playoff Jimmy, Bam Adebayo, and rising star Caleb Martin, dominated the Celtics 103-84 in the Game 4 victory.

NBA Finals Preview

Keys to a Nuggets series victory

Denver’s chances of winning any game rest on how well the supporting cast performs. We know Nikola Jokic will get his points, rebounds, and assists.

So for the Nuggets to beat the Miami Heat and win the NBA Finals, Murray, Gordon, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Michael Porter Jr., and the bench must step it up.

Keys to a Heat series victory

Like the Nuggets, Miami has a star player in Butler. Unlike the Nuggets, the Heat relies on much more than Jimmy B.

So for Denver, if Jokic has a bad game, the Nuggets won’t. But if Butler isn’t his usual brilliant self, Adebayo, Martin, or Duncan Robinson off the bunch will pick up the slack.

Miami revolves around Jimmy’s brilliance, but in the end, the Heat’s strategy is to utilize their bench, including Kyle Lowry, who used to start, get Gabe Vincent going, and then hand the ball to Butler to take over when required.

During the series against the Celtics, Erik Spoelstra added Martin to the starting lineup. Martin’s play is why Miami beat the Celtics in Game 7.
