Knicks vs Spurs Game Analysis: Down Two Games
This series moves to New York for Game 3, taking place on Monday, June 8, with us at PayPerHead. With two wins under their belt, the Knicks are favored to win this next game and the series. It’s tough to win in Madison Square Garden on the best of nights, but during the NBA finals…
The Spurs are in a big hole, and whatever confidence and motivation they built up by beating the Oklahoma City Thunder is now gone. They are meeting a rested, experienced and determined team in their home court.
New York Knicks Recent Scores: More Records
The Knicks are the third team to win the first two games of a finals on the road. The other two teams were the 1993 Chicago Bulls and the 1995 Houston Rockets. Both of those teams went on to win championships. The Bulls needed six games to beat the Phoenix Suns, and the Rockets swept the Orlando Magic.
To add to that record, the Knicks are now only the second team to win 13 straight games in the postseason.

San Antonio Spurs Recent Scores: Game 2 Mistakes
The Dynamic Duo of the Spurs, Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, were out of sync in the final seconds of Game 2, when they needed it most. Wemby had the ball. Castle, who recently came off the bench, glanced at Victor before charging up the floor. Victor shot the ball up to Castle, who had turned his back to Wemby while running ahead. He missed the pass, which could have resulted in a game-winning play.
Knicks vs Spurs Prediction History: Almost a Comeback
Wembanyama was quiet in the first half of Game 2. He made up for it by scoring 22 of his 29 points in the second half. The Spurs put together an incredible 14-0 run midway through the fourth to tie the game.
Wemby’s three-point play, with 57 seconds left in the game, pulled the Spurs ahead 104-102, their first lead in almost two quarters. Jalen Brunson got the next three points to go ahead. The last throw of the game came from Wemby, who made the attempt from 20 feet away. It bounced off the rim, and the buzzer sounded. The Knicks won, 105-104.
Knicks vs Spurs Prediction: Driving Momentum
No team has ever come back from being down 0-2 in the Finals when those losses came at home. The Spurs have the talent to change history, but they are young and inexperienced.
New York’s clutch play is strong, led by Brunson, while its physical defense hampers the Spurs at every turn.
The Spurs have been relying on Victor Wembayama to lead the way, but players like Dylan Harper and Stephon Castle need to step up and take some of the heat off Wemby.
Both teams are relatively healthy, so it should be another electric game, getting charged up even more by the fans.
The pressure on the Spurs is off the charts. They have to win this if they want a chance to win the Championship. We’ll see if they can handle the pressure and get the job done, or if the Knicks and MSG are too big a challenge to overcome.
Our Spurs vs Knicks prediction is another close game, with the Knicks earning a 106-103 win.
