Patriots vs Bears Game Analysis: Equal Footing

Week 6 takes place in Chicago, where the New England Patriots visit to take on the Bears on Thursday Night Football, October 22.

The Patriots sit below the Bills in the AFC East with a 4-2 record, while the Bears are in the arguably toughest NFC North division with the same 4-2 record, but in third place below the undefeated Vikings and the Packers (also 4-2).

Here at PayPerHead, you’ll find our Patriots vs Bears prediction and everything you need to know ahead of this game.

New England Patriots Recent Scores: On a Roll

In Week 4, the Patriots handed the Bills their only loss this season. Patriots quarterback Drake Maye threw for 269 yards, three touchdowns and one interception, finishing 22-of-37. Buffalo’s Josh Allen threw for 253 yards, threw a passing touchdown, and also had a rushing touchdown. With the Bills trailing late, Allen threw a fourth-quarter interception and Khalil Shakir fumbled the ball to seal the win for New England.

In Week 5, the Patriots blew out the Raiders, 45-17. Maye passed for a whopping 374 yards (26-of-34), four touchdowns, and a rushing score. The Raiders committed 8 penalties for 101 yards. They brought in rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza in the second half after falling far behind. Unfortunately, that didn’t help their defense.

In Week 6, the Patriots won their third straight game and beat the Jets for the fourth straight time, despite losing three offensive linemen. It was Maye’s third consecutive game with at least 3 touchdown passes. The Jets had a chance to come back in the fourth, but New York’s quarterback, Geno Smith, was picked off by Charles Woods for Geno’s first interception of the season.

Chicago Bears Recent Scores: Back to Health

The Bears started the season with a high-scoring win over the Panthers. The 96 combined points were the most points scored in a season opener in NFL history. Week 2 displayed the opposite, with the kickers supplying all the points with field goals.

The Packers dominated the Bears in Week 5, with Green Bay quarterback, Jordan Love passing for 367 yards. Chicago committed five turnovers.

Quarterback Caleb Williams returned in Week 6 against the Falcons, after missing three weeks with a hamstring injury. He completed his first 12 passes. Bears cornerback Kyler Gordon, also returning from injury, had three sacks and two forced fumbles.

Patriots vs Bears History: Super Bowl Rivals

The Bears and Patriots have met only 16 times over 53 years, with New England leading the series 11-5. They first met on October 21, 1973, and last met in November 2024, when the Patriots won 19-3 in Chicago.

Their only postseason game came on January 26, 1986, in Super Bowl XX, which Chicago decisively beat New England 46-10.

Patriots vs Bears Prediction: Thin Offensive Line

New England is on a three-game winning streak, while Caleb Williams is back at QB for Chicago. Both defenses are good and at about the same level.

New England’s offensive line has struggled recently, with several players possibly missing the game due to injuries. Maye’s production in the last three games has been great, posting 10 passing touchdowns and 1 interception, but he could face more pressure on the road, which could limit his performance, especially with a short week, Thursday night game.

Our Patriots vs Bears prediction is a close 24-20 win for the Bears as long as Williams’ hamstring continues to mend. Remember to follow us on social media to stay tuned this NFL season.
