Knicks vs Spurs Game Analysis and Preview
Game 4 of the NBA Finals will be held on June 10 with us at PayPerHead, the second night at Madison Square Garden in New York. This will be another pivotal game as the Knicks can take an almost insurmountable lead, or the Spurs can even it up, going back to San Antonio, TX.
This is only the second time in league history that the road team has won the first three games of the Finals. The last time was in 1993, when the Chicago Bulls faced the Phoenix Suns.
New York Knicks Recent Scores: Brunson and Towns
Game 3 was the Knicks’ first loss in 46 days. Not a great way to showcase the first NBA Finals played at MSG in 27 years.
Karl-Anthony Towns had outplayed San Antonio’s Wembanyama in the first two games, but was relatively quiet in Game 3, with 11 points, 8 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 blocks.
Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 32 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists, but gave up 5 turnovers. The team had a total of 13, compared to 8 for the Spurs.
San Antonio Spurs Recent Scores: Brush Off Errors
To his credit, Victor Wembanyama brushed off his Game 2 error, which may have cost them the game, and delivered a performance in Game 3 that brought them the victory. He may be a rookie, but he learns fast, and now has his first NBA Finals win. He finished the game with 32 points, eight rebounds and six assists, with 10 points in the final quarter.
Castle had 23 points, including a 3-pointer late in the game for a 111-104 lead in the final two minutes. The Knicks inched dangerously close before Castle secured the win with free throws.

Knicks vs Spurs History
The Spurs snapped New York’s 13-game winning streak in Game 3, winning 115-111. That win was crucial, especially in New York, as a loss would have put the Knicks up 3-0 in the series. With the fourth game also at MSG, that would have been too big a mountain to climb. Now they know they can win in New York, which puts a completely different spin on the odds.
The Spurs were ahead 33-22 after one quarter, but the Knicks came back and held the lead, 64-57 at the half. The Spurs regained the lead in the third and held off a Knicks rally at the end of the game, a Knicks trademark this postseason.
Knicks vs Spurs Prediction and Score for Game 4: Breaking Records
If the Spurs had lost Game 3, they would have been down 3-0, which no NBA team has ever come back from in the Finals. But even before that, they lost the first two games at home, which no NBA team has come back from in the Finals either. So one way or another, they have to go where no team has gone before if they want to win.
This may be the first time this postseason the Knicks have felt anything but complete confidence in their ability to win, since it’s been so long since they last lost a game. But they are still favored to win Game 4 by a 1.5-point margin. Our Spurs vs Knicks prediction is that the Spurs will win another close game, 108-106.
