NFL Week 2 - Monday Night Recap

NFL Week 2 Monday Night Recap: Bears Close Book on Seahawks with Pick 6

Let’s finish our recap of NLF Week 2 by looking at the Bears vs Seahawks, The Chicago Bears took their record to 1-1 after beating the Seattle Seahawks 24-17 in NFL Week 2 Monday Night Football.

Chicago Bears 24, Seattle Seahawks 17

Check out the key play of the game, what to look for from both teams in Week 3, and how the betting shaped up for online bookies.

Key Play For Chicago Bears

Bears cornerback Prince Amukamara’s interception return for a TD

With 6:37 left in the game, Prince Amukamara intercepted a Russell Wilson pass and returned it 49-yards for a TD.

At the time Amukamara made his game-sealing pick 6, the Seattle Seahawks had cut Chicago’s lead to a touchdown and extra point.

Seattle appeared to have momentum, but Amukamara made the play that led to a Bears’ 14 points lead. Seattle would score a TD with around 14 seconds left. That made the game look closer than it was.

Defensive Struggle Lead to an Under Game

41 points seems like a lot in a game between two NFL franchises known for their defenses. However, this game was a defensive struggle.

Chicago managed 85 rushing yards while Seattle managed 74. Seahawks’ quarterback Russell Wilson threw an interception. Chicago quarterback Mitch Trubisky threw 2 interceptions. The Bears sacked Wilson 6 times.

Defense ruled the night, which is why even though 41 seems like a lot of points, it wasn’t enough points for over bettors. The total was 42.5, which means that Seattle’s TD with 14 seconds left didn’t send the game over.

Chicago Covers as a Favorite

The Bears kicked off as a -4.5 favorite. At no point did it feel like the Bears weren’t going to cover the spread. Chicago built a 10-3 lead. Then, the Bears built a 17-3 lead. At one point, the lead became Chicago 17-10.

Amukamara’s pick 6 led to the 14 points lead, 24-10. Seattle appeared to gain momentum at one point. The Seahawks never challenged the Bears against the spread, though.

Chicago maintained at least a 7 points lead throughout the game.

Seahawks and Bears Look Ahead

Seattle faces a tough Dallas Cowboys defense in Week 3. The Cowboys’ offense isn’t great, which could lead to a Seattle cover at -3.

Consider using your layoff accounts if either side garners too much action.

Chicago is a -4 favorite over the Arizona Cardinals. The Cardinals have scored 6 points total in 2 games this season. Arizona’s terrible offense faces a great Bears’ defense.

Don’t be surprised if the line moves from Bears -4 to Bears -5 before kickoff. Use your layoff account if your bettors pound the Bears against the spread.

You can also use the line mover, which we offer through our Prime Package.

If the action gets crazy on the Bears, use the line mover to change the Bears at Cardinals spread.
