The 2018 Kentucky Derby Future Odds To Promote

The 2018 Kentucky Derby takes place on May 2. Does that mean it’s too early to promote Kentucky Derby future wagers in your racebook?

Not at all.

In fact, online bookie agents should not only promote Kentucky Derby future wagers, they should also promote Kentucky Derby prep betting.

Look at current Kentucky Derby Future Odds. Then, read about how to combine Kentucky Derby future betting with that weekend’s Derby prep race.

2018 Kentucky Derby Future Odds

Audible   +800

Trained by Todd Pletcher, Audible is the hot horse in the Derby Futures. Audible won the Grade 2 Holy Bull. He’s expected to run in the March 1 Florida Derby.

Bolt D’Oro +900

Bolt D’Oro has yet to make his 3-year-old debut. That should happen in about a week on March 10 when Bolt D’Oro runs in the San Felipe Stakes.

Good Magic   +1000

Last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile winner makes his 3-year-old debut this Saturday in the Fountain of Youth Stakes.

Solomini   +1400

One of two Bob Baffert trained horses offering less than 20 to 1 odds, Solomini is another who could show up in the San Felipe. He might end up in the Rebel Stakes at Oaklawn Park on March 17.

McKinzie   +1600

Baffert also trains McKinzie. If Solomini runs in the San Felipe, McKinzie will run in the Rebel and vice versa.

Gold Town   +1600

Undefeated on dirt, mighty Godolphin will start Gold Town in the UAE Derby on March 31, Dubai World Cup Day.

Mask   +2000

Mask is also undefeated. He won the Mucho Macho Man Stakes at Gulfstream Park in his last. Mask is trained by Eclipse winning trainer Chad Brown.

North America’s top sire, Tapit, is Mask’s father. Brown hasn’t said where Mask will run next.

What Should You Do For Your Racebook?

It’s difficult to pick the Kentucky Derby winner. If you’re one of those per head agents that enjoys taking risks, not assigning max betting limits on Kentucky Derby futures might be the way to go.

If you don’t want to take the risk, assign max betting limits.

When it comes to promoting Kentucky Derby future betting, it helps to also promote that weekend’s top Derby prep race. See below for a few examples.

“Can Bolt D’Oro take home the Kentucky Derby after only two prep races? He starts his quest on March 10 in the Grade 2 San Felipe!”

“Can Gold Town become Godolphin’s first Kentucky Derby winner? His odds have floated all the way down to 16 to 1. Don’t forget to check out Gold Town in the UAE Derby on March 31!”

Sending out e-mails or texts (or tweets if that’s where you connect with your players) like the ones above will remind horse race bettors about the prep races and get them making future wagers for the Kentucky Derby.
