PayPerHead’s 2023 NFL Draft Preview

2023 NFL Draft Preview. The NFL Draft happens on Thursday, April 27. NFL Draft analysts believe the Carolina Panthers choose a quarterback, but which one? Check out a pay per head agent geared NFL Mock Draft for the first 10 picks.

2023 NFL Draft First Round Mock – Top 10

1. Carolina Panthers – QB Will Levis, Kentucky

On Tuesday this week, the odds on Levis dived from +4000 to be the first player chosen to +400. Then on Wednesday, the bookie sportsbook odds rose to +600, but they still made Will the second choice on the board.

If Panthers pick Levis first, bookie pay per head agents could lose their shirts. Set max limits on Levis to be chosen first because the indications are the Panthers will shake up the NFL Draft by making a substantial early pick.

2. Houston Texans – QB Bryce Young, Alabama

Some bookie betting agents could be why Bryce Young’s odds settled at -1400 before Tuesday. No doubt, PPH sportsbook agents want to ensure players avoid backing the Bama signal-caller.

Young could be the greatest sub-6′ 0″ quarterback in the league’s history, and it wouldn’t take much. Kyler Murray is good, but he’s no Drew Brees. Then again, Young could fail miserably.

Bryce’s football IQ ensures he doesn’t end up a bust, which is why the Texans will pull the trigger on the Crimson Tide QB.

The odds of Young going to the Panthers at number 1 are -1000. A bookmaker software agent player, or two, could decide to go for it at those odds. But the payout will be minimal.

3. Arizona Cardinals – DE Will Anderson Jr., Alabama

Sure, the Cardinals might move this pick. Or they might take a shot on one of the most unique defensive players to come out of the college ranks in a long time.

Will Anderson has the makings of the next great NFL defensive end. Not only does he have terrific moves to get to the quarterback, but he’s a solid tackler, and he can move out of rushing the QB at the line of scrimmage and cover running backs in zone schemes.

It’s doubtful Anderson goes first. Set max limits, anyhow. Stranger things have happened, and no price per head agent wants to be on the hook for a +20000 payout.

4. Indianapolis Colts – QB C.J. Stroud – Ohio State

If CJ Stroud was up there at 4, the Colts might go nuts. Ah, but the rumor heading into Thursday is that the Colts love Kentucky gunslinger Will Levis.

Indy could pull a trade to 2, 1, or even 3 to ensure they can draft Will. The bottom line? Pay per head sportsbook agents should set max limits on all NFL Draft options. No matter the odds.

5. Seattle Seahawks – DL Jalen Carter – Georgia

By all accounts, Carter is the most talented player in the entire NFL Draft. But Jalen could have a better work ethic.

At least, that’s what many believe. He’s also immature. So those are massive red flags. Pete Carroll, though, has dealt with players who skirt the edge of immense, hall of fame talent and out of the league in 2 seasons

It will be up to Carroll to get Jalen to play his best. If Carter fails, make no mistake, the Seahawks will blame Pete.

6. Detroit Lions – CB Christian Gonzalez – Oregon

Oregon’s Christian Gonzalez is a solid player. He can flat out dominate an opponent’s top wide receiver, which makes Gonzalez the prime player for Detroit to choose at 6.

Gonzalez has blazing speed. We’re talking 4.38, 40-yard dash speed. Gonzalez also rarely makes mistakes in coverage. So he’s the perfect blend of speed and coverage ability.

7. Las Vegas Raiders – QB Anthony Richardson – Florida

If Jimmy Garoppolo stays healthy, Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels and Jimmy will provide west coast magic this season. But Jimmy G. has never stayed healthy for an entire season, so on Thursday night, Vegas will call Anthony Richardson’s name.

Richardson is as raw as it gets. The man is a freak athlete. If he can get his footwork right in the passing game, he’ll be a star, but that’s a big if. McDaniels is great with quarterbacks. Think Tom Brady, so this should be a terrific match.

8. Atlanta Falcons – EDGE Tyree Wilson – Texas Tech

So the odds of Tyree Wilson being the second player chosen at the 2023 NFL Draft have dropped to +130. Wilson isn’t even on the radar to be the first player selected.

But he’s now offering lower bookie website odds to be the second player chosen than Will Anderson. Does that make sense? Sort of.

Tyree played at Texas Tech, and Houston head coach DeMeco Ryans is a defense first HC. So, maybe, Ryans has had multiple conversations with Wilson.

If we’re right, Tyree goes eighth to the Falcons. If we’re wrong, Ryans pulls the trigger on Wilson with the second pick. So, sports betting software agents must set max limits on all NFL Draft options

9. Chicago Bears – CB Devon Witherspoon – Illinois

Chicago must get their defense together. Since trading Roquan Smith to the Baltimore Ravens, the Bears D has been a disaster.

Chicago will draft Illinois’ excellent cornerback if he’s available. Witherspoon is almost as fast as Gonzalez. He’ll help protect the secondary while the Bears shore up the front seven.

10. Philadelphia Eagles – EDGE Nolan Smith – Georgia

Smith is a talented player. He can do many things well, so the Eagles won’t pass on the UGA star edge rusher.

Philadelphia lost Javon Hargrave to the San Francisco 49ers in the offseason via free agency. Smith will help Philly play the same excellent D in the front seven this season as last season on their way to the Super Bowl.
