College Football Week 4 2023 Preview

College Football Week 4 2023 Preview. This Saturday has six ranked team matchups, which has the potential of shuffling the teams around once the dust settles.

Week 3 didn’t have many surprises. Most games went as expected except maybe the Tennessee Vols at Florida Gators game. Tennessee hasn’t won at The Swamp since 2003, and that streak is starting to look like a curse for the Vols. Losing that game moved the No. 11 Volunteers to No. 23.

Week 4 Top 25 Ranked Schedule

Get ready for a much more exciting weekend with the potential for crazy upsets.

  • 11 Utah (-4.5, 51.5) vs. No. 22 UCLA
  • 12 LSU (-18, 57) vs. Arkansas

A Top Ten Game that Should Deliver

The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes will be on the spot to see if they can hold off the No. 9 Notre Dame Fighting Irish. The Buckeyes have won their last five meetings by an average of 14.6 points per game. They’ve come out with a slow start this season, whereas the Fighting Irish have hit the ground running. This might be why the odds went from -7.5 for the Buckeyes at the beginning of the season to -3 now.

The quarterbacks have similar numbers. Notre Dame’s Sam Hartman averaged 265.3 passing yards with 13 touchdowns and no interceptions through four games. Ohio State’s Kyle McCord averaged 271.7 passing yards with six touchdowns and one interception. McCord is settling in as the starting quarterback and should continue to improve.

The Buckeyes should be able to win this one and extend the winning streak to six, as they have a defense that is second in yards per play allowed (3.4) and total yards allowed (218.5). Notre Dame’s offensive line has some potential weak points. Keep your limits in as the line may continue to move.

The No. 19 Colorado Buffaloes Have a Big Challenge

Last weekend, the Buffaloes were expected to trample over their interstate rivals, Colorado State, as 22.5-point favorites. But instead, they needed overtime to win the game 43-35. Their defense allowed 488 total yards. They didn’t cover the spread and lost Travis Hunter to injury. This weekend’s game will be against the No. 10 Oregon Ducks, their most formidable challenge yet.

Both teams enter this game undefeated. That will change for one of the teams. The Ducks have an offense at least as good as the Buffaloes. However, the Ducks also have a strong defense that makes them one of the most complete rosters in the country. They should have no trouble winning this game and covering the spread.

No. 4 Florida State Visits Clemson to Break Their Losing Streak

The season started with Clemson being the favorite in this matchup. That was before the Florida State Seminoles did so well. The Seminoles are the favorites now, but why are the odds so close between a No. 4 ranked team (-2.5) and an unranked team?

The Clemson Tigers have won this matchup for the last seven games. Plus, the Tigers will have home field advantage. The pressure is on the Seminoles. They get to break the long-standing losing streak if they win, but it won’t positively affect their rankings. If they lose, the streak continues, and their ranking will undoubtedly drop considerably.

The Seminoles’ offense with quarterback Jordan Travis is potent, as is their defense. However, the Tigers have one of the best defenses in the country. This one is so close I would keep your limits in because it could be a wild ride.
